CNY -2010
I know CNY is over, but I need to record this for memory. *Whisper* I found a way to blog from “tempat kerja”
Our CNY this year was same as usual. Balik kampung, balik KL, loh sang but this year we managed to squeeze in 1 day holiday in PD. I managed to get a room at Avillion Admiral Cove last minute and the girls had a blast time swimming in the pool.
The girls love to watch lion dance especially Kyrie. Since young she was never afraid of the lion nor the noise. Hallie, on the other hand, was a scary cat, but in order to act macho in front of her sister, she kept mumbling, “I no scare, I no scare” but her body was shivering whenever there was lion dance in our vicinity.
No Wonder You’re My Life Partner
Sunday, afternoon, home was like oven so we decided to go grocery shopping because supermarket has the coldest aircond.
Upon reaching Tekka, I told Daddy I need buy milk tea ( chan chu nai cha) because it was just too hot. Told him to look after the kids where I dashed over to the next block to the buy the drinks.
Came back with the drinks and saw Daddy and kids eating Old Chang Kee’s fish balls.
Me : Nah, your drinks.
Daddy: Thanks. What drinks did you buy for me?
Me: Your favourite lah. Sour plum green tea with pearls.
Daddy: Wah, you really my wife. I don’t need to tell and you know exactly what I wanted.
Me : *happy* Of course. So what snack did you buy for me from Old Chang Kee? What’s my favourite?
Daddy: Oppphh. I didn’t buy anything for you. Curry puff is your favourite?
Me: #$%^&*@#$
Weekend Outing
Yesterday, we brought the kids to the nearby park to cycle but Mr Wong suggested that we go East Coast Park instead. Off we went without any preparation. We dumped Kyrie’s bicycle in the car boot and drove off.
Upon reaching there, Papa went to rent a dual seaters bicycle that came with a child seat. Our intention was the 2 adults cycled with Hallie in the child seat whereas Kyrie can cycled her own bicycle. The moment she saw out bicycle, she went screaming about riding with us and refused to pedal her own bicycle. She then refused to let her sister to be seated on the child seat. We ignored her and told her that either she follow us or she can stood there with Popo. She chose the later which was fine with us.
We went round with Mei Mei seated behind me. I was abit worried because I cant see what’s she doing. I can felt her using her head knocking on my back. Later, I told Papa to go back and changed the bicycle into a single seater with a child seat in front. I feel safer this way.
We let Kyrie went on the first ride where Mei Mei seated on her own stroller. Papa went off whereas Mei Mei and I took a strolled to the nearby stalls to buy bubble tea.
When Papa came back, Kyrie agreed to swap with Mei Mei. It was Mei-Mei’s turn to go for her ride whereas I pushed Kyrie back to the rest area to meet Popo.
About 15 minutes later, from far I saw Papa cycled back but I can’t see Mei Mei. I got abit worried and Popo exclaimed loudly that Papa was holding to her head. My initial thought was they fell. When they reached the rest area, we realised Mei Mei has fallen asleep in her child seat!!! Hahaha, must be the bumpy ride plus sea wind that made her sleepy. When we removed her from the seat, she woke up and smiled at me and immediately plunked her head on my shoulder and continued sleeping.
When went to had lunch at McDonald nearby where Hallie continued to Zzzz. When she woke up, she saw the french fries and immediately grabbed one.
At home, we asked her. Mei Mei when you seated on the bicycle, what were you doing? She gave us the embarrassed look and did the “sleeping action” Hahaha
What About Me?
We speak cantonese at home between ourselves but with the kids mostly in English and Cantonese. Popo speaks broken english, teochew, cantonese and mandarin to the girls. Maid speaks mostly english and bahasa to them. The kids are highly “exposure” to all the rojak languages.
Nowadays due to spending long hours with the maid, Hallie speaks good bahasa. Hahaha, whenever she’s done with her milk. She would call out to the maid, “Kakak, HA-BIS” Occasional the maid will ask her, “Hallie, habis?” and if she’s not done yet, she would reply, “BE-LUM”
The other common bahasa words use among them are baju, sakit, dongak, etc.
Hallie’s favourite mandarin word, “see shou” (wash hands) As for Kyrie, her mandarin improves tremendously ever since she started pre-school. The reason been she’s very close to her Lao Shi. Her Lao Shi is from China and therefore they speak proper Mandarin. Once she got home, she told me, “Lao Shi shou yi ke yi ke lai” (teacher said one by one) Now she can differentiate shapes in 2 languages; english and mandarin. I too took the initiative to try to speak Mandarin to her more. Previously, I always speak Cantonese to her but I realised she always answers me back in English.
This conversation took place on Sunday between Papa and myself. I was telling Papa I wanted to patronise this particular restaurant after reading good review in the newspaper.
Me : Papa, ngor ooi sek yi kor. (Papa I wanna eat this one)
Papa: Ok, tai lei hui lor. (Ok, bring you go)
Me: Yi yan sai kai only, can? (Just the two of us only, can?)
Papa: Tuck. (Can)
All these while Kyrie was standing right next to us, observing us and listening. Once we were done talking, she said this.
Kyrie: Go where? Kyrie how? Kyrie also want to eat wor
LOL!!! She can understand cantonese prefectly?
Singpore Zoo – Kidz World
Last Thursday we went to the zoo again for the tenth times and this round we headed straight to the Kidz World section. This section is the kids’ favourite as there is a kiddie ride, pony ride and the water playground!!
Let’s the photos do all the talking now:

Where’s Ms Wong #2? Ohh……hiding behind her mommy. So scare of the pony. Jie jie untung lor, went on second ride on behalf of her scary sister. The trainer was kind enough to let her on for an extra round without additional ticket. Trainer’s remark was, “Kyrie is a good rider!!”
Daddy’s Birthday
*Backdated Post*
Daddy celebrated his thirty-XXX birthday couple of weeks back. I bought him a cake but as usual the girls were happier than the birthday boy.
This year, even Hallie can sing the birthday song and pretend to blow candle.

Influenza A….H1N1?
This is how all of us look like upon reaching home after a long vacation in Msia.

Papa developed flu symptom when we were in Port Dickson. On Mon, upon reaching home, he went to see a GP. He was given 5 days MC. On Tue, I took emergency leave thinking of resting for another day because I was really tired. Unfortunately, on Tue night itself I started having fever, sore throat, cough, and what’s not. My whole body was aching so badly that I feel like dying. I was grateful that the kids were not hit!!
Sigh, on Wed night, Kyrie was tossing in bed and when I woke up to check on her, her body was so warm like an oven. I immediately fed her paracetamol. We were debating if we should go to KK’s A&E because I was really worried. We waiting till the morning before we brought her to see the paed. Paed claimed that at the rate that H1N1 is spreading in community, 62% of her patients were H1N1 victims. The whole of Thurs, her fever was so high that by the evening, I had no choice but to insert a bullet into her rectum!! Sigh!!!
So far 3 down and 3 up. By Fri afternoon, I heard Hallie coughing on and off. Prior to that, she already developed an eye infection with yellow discharge. Today is Sunday, Hallie’s cough has gotten from bad to worse. She even vomited in her sarong during her nap. *Double sigh*
Now we shall declared this household the “Coughing Wong” All of us, Papa, Mommy, Kyrie and Hallie are like an orchestra. Ahhhh–choo……cough cough.
Left standing strong as always are Popo and Kakak.
Talk Back
Sunday afternoon after lunch, while papa was driving and Kyrie and I seated behind.
Kyrie : Papa, what’s this? (She’s holding to a Dora tumbler holder which I just bought)
Papa as usual, day dreaming and wasn’t paying attention to her.
Mommy : This is DOE-LA (Spoke in a very irritating chinese accent tone)
Kyrie ignored me.
Kyrie: Papa! Papa!! What is THIS?
Mommy : DOE-LA. DOE-LA
At this point, Kyrie was extremely agitated. She turn around, stared at me and….
Kyrie : Are you Papa? Am I talking to you? You, Papa is it?
Mommy giggled pretended to be sad because Kyrie sounded her.
Kyrie : PAPA!! I am talking to you. What is THIS?
The ever blur man…
Papa: Huh? What is this? I don’t know.
Kyrie: *heavy sigh* This is DORA.
Yes darling. I know how you feel. I feel the same too each time I talk to your Papa. The beginning line is always, “huh” , “what” . He’s into selective listening now. He only choose to listen to thing he wants.

Who Kill You?
Last Saturday Kyrie saw me putting on a sanitary pad.
Kyrie : What’s this?
Mom: My pamper.
Kyrie tried to peep and saw some blxxd.
Kyrie: Got blood?
Mom: Yeah. Pain. (Pretend to be in pain)
Kyrie : Who kill you?
Hahahaha, I cant stopped laughing.
Mom : Naah. Nobody kill me. Mom need to bleed every month, my dear.
Kyrie still to young to understand, refused to accept this explanation.
Kyrie : I know. Papa killed you. I scold him for you, ok?
She went out and looked into his Papa’s eyes and said this. “Why you so naughty? Why you killed my mom?” Haha. I went and explained to her Papa what happened.
Papa’s answer to Kyrie was this. “Ok, I wont kill you mommy. I’ll impregnate her again, ok?”
I’m speechless!!!!
