Puzzles Time

Kyrie is very into puzzles nowadays. She’s crazy and can play the same puzzles everyday over and over again. The new puzzle that we bought her, she took a day to master it and now can put all together within minutes.

Hallie pening kepala

I was unable to capture any photos during the game because all chasing after the shuttle instead of hitting it. After 5 minutes, both the Singapore and Bangladesh teams threw in the towels and decided to run around like terrorists around the corridor.

P/S: Did anyone notice that the Bangladesh player is wearing a cheongsum?

Cough, Cough Go Away

Currently, the noise from my household is very similar to the TB Ward. The kids are still coughing non stop since the last 3 trips to the Paed clinic. This morning I brought both of them there again as Hallie has vomited 6 times last night. We ended up waking up changing sheets and pillowcase the whole night. *Yawn* I’m so tired now.

Paed’s conclusion was both have sensitive airway that causes them to cough especially at night. Now both is on one month of Singlair tablets that cost a bomb as well as Bambec.

Popo Birthday

Yesterday was Popo’s 69 birthday. Since everybody at home still coughing, I decided not to buy a cake. I bought pandan cheese roll instead.

As usual Kyrie is the most excited one. She sang the birthday song in both version,  English and mandarin and clapped the loudest. In fact she was the one who blew the candle as well because Popo was too shy to blow candle.

My little Hallie as usual the grumpy look while Papa carried her.

Kyrie’s verdict was the cake very very delicious. She wanted to bring 1 slice to school tomorrow to share with her Teacher Sonya.

Grumpy Hallie took a few bites, but woke up at night and threw up twice. Sigh..

Kids’ Fav Place

Every weekend you ask Kyrie where she wants to go, her standard answer is I want to go Seiyu. Last Sunday after our dinner at Putien Restaurant, we went to the new City Square mall. Sad to say, there’s nothing much to see and explore. We decided to go back to the girls’ favourite joint, Seiyu since they have the puzzle we wanted to buy.

Kyrie is very into puzzle these days. She is able to complete her 20 pieces Mickey Mouse rather easily and keep asking for new puzzles. The moment we got to the Kids’ level, she totally forgotten about her puzzles and went straight to the Kiddy Ride Section. She wanted to play some games which I said NO because we are here to buy puzzles and not to play games. She got upset and told me to wait outside while she and her daddy need to do something inside. Haha, sounded so serious hor?

Kyrie’s Mid Term School Review

Yesterday was Kyrie’s school review where “Teachers Parents Meet Up” session was. The kiddo is not allowed to be present during the session. We left her at home since it was her nap time too.

In short, her class teacher exclaimed that Kyrie is a sensitive girl who likes to help her classmate and would clean up whenever she create a mess in her class.

Currently she knows all her numbers mainly from zero until nine. Montessori material are learned through sensory and touch. She must trace her numeric using her fingers. She also knows how to stack blocks from bigger to smallest.

During the session, there’s also comments from her Mandarin teacher. During the initial stage, Kyrie always prefers to speak in English to her mandarin teacher but her teacher insists that she use mandarin. Now slowly whenever she sees her mandarin teacher, she would take the initiative to speak in Mandarin first. The teacher also commented her mandarin still has a long way to go and we need to enrich her language further if we intend to enroll her into a local school later on.

Later on, another teacher asked me if anyone at home speak bahasa to Kyrie. I was surprised by the question. The teacher said reason being, one day during pronunciation lesson, the teacher asked her in the word, PEANUT, what’s the first word she heard. Peanut [pee-nuht] Pee…….per. Guess what answer did Kyrie give?

She told her teacher, “KACANG”!!!!

Hehe…so pandai hor!!!

Kyrie says……..

Yesterday, upon reaching home, Kyrie ran up to me and told me this.

Kyrie: Mommy, this morning I ngk ngk in school and Kor-Kor helped me to wipe my pet-pet.

Me: What????????????????? *Speechless*

After 5 minutes, I asked her again, what happened.

Kyrie: I stomach pain-pain. Kor Kor bring me go toilet then wiped for me.

Me: Why you didn’t ask teacher or lao shi to help?

Kyrie: No teacher, no lao shi. Only kor kor.

Me: Who is this kor-kor? What is his name?

Kyrie: kor-kor.

Me: Same class as you?

Kyrie: Yes!!!

Me: How kor-kor wipe?

She showed me, wipe the front portion of her pet-pet. *LOL*

Me: Clean or not?

Kyrie: No!!!!!!

Later, I asked the maid to check if her panties has any stained. Maid claimed nothing.

See, this is the problem about Montessori school environment. The teachers there are known as directresses. They do not teach but to guide the children through work and play. Kids are not segregated through age group meaning each class consist of different age group kids. The older kids are given the role as model to guide the younger kids by learning through practice.

I suspected the kor-kor that Kyrie mentioned must the older kid in her class.

This morning, I asked her if she’s shy to see kor kor since kor kor saw her pet pet yesterday. She nodded sheepishly.
